Jon Gunter
As a third-generation machinist, Jon grew up in and around the shop. No stranger to the artistry and equipment he was called to the profession from a young age.
He served his apprenticeship in the aerospace industry, learning a number of classic and innovative techniques that were instrumental in his craft. Since receiving his journeyman papers, he has logged over three decades of experience in a variety of industries including sports cameras, aerospace and racing.
When he isn’t in the machine shop you can almost always find him in the garage. He has a passion for classic Pontiacs and all things drag racing. He had a few firebirds and a 77 TA but wanted to stretch his legs a little farther. In 1999 he finished building his 65 tube chassis GTO. He did every aspect of the car including body and paint and has been racing it ever since.
Given his enthusiasm for the sport, Jon could not pass up the chance to work with a fellow racer in 2013. When he was approached about machining custom engine components, he jumped at the opportunity. At that point he purchased his first CNC machine and Bayside Billet was born.
Since then, he has been dedicated to creating the very best pieces that he can. Jon takes pride in his work and loves using his knowledgebase and skills to provide custom machined aluminum products. He specializes in one-of-a-kind items big and small; turning your vision into reality.
In the future Jon’s goal is to be able to provide his own line of aluminum products, in addition to custom works.
